Peels

Synergy Skin and Laser Center offers Skinceuticals, a scientifically advanced skin care product line to help improve appearance and texture of skin without irritation. The Skinceuticals Peels were developed to gradually improve the appearance and texture of the facial skin without irritation and lifestyle disruption, which can be a common occurrence with peels already on the market.  The treatments can be accompanied by Skinceuticals skin care products, used at home, pre and post treatment, and are designed to minimize patient down time. Chemical Peels  Slough away the upper layer of dead skin cells as well as penetrate the middle layers of the dermis to soften fine lines, promote a rosy glow, encourage better absorption of topical skin care products or even dry an acne flare up.  Peels produce controlled injury to the skin that promotes the growth of new skin with an improved appearance. The precise formula used will be adjusted to meet each patient’s needs. Your skin care specialist will determine which chemical peel is best suited to your skin. For optimal results, two series of 4-6 procedures per year are recommended

MicroPeel.  The SkinCeuticals Micropeel is a three-step clinical procedure combining dermaplaning (physical exfoliation), chemical exfoliation, and cryogenic therapy to reduce signs of photoaging including fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and visible skin imperfections. $95

MicroPeel Sensitive Skin Solution. This peel is for the person who has sensitive skin and can’t tolerate a strong acid. It contains Niacin, lactic acid and usnic acid. It exfoliates and decongests pores while hydrating the skin.  $95

MicroPeel Plus  This procedure is a unique one-step treatment of chemical exfoliation designed to reduce acne, keep problematic skin clear of breakouts, and help correct environmental skin damage. With a combination of salicylic acid to refine pores and help reduce the appearance of acne and glycolic acid to aid in the improvement of rough texture, blotchiness, and uneven skin tone. $95

Pigment Balancing Peel This treatment is a unique, customizable chemical peel targeting hyperpigmentation to dramatically improve the uneven appearance of photo-damaged, mottled skin. The masque combines high performance brightening and anti-inflammatory agents with a powerful exfoliating acid solution to accelerate cell renewal and diminish, diffuse and localize hyperpigmentation. $95

Cryogenic Therapy A clinical skin freezing procedure is used to immediately increase the rate of the skin cellular turnover. This causes sun-damaged cells to be shed, more even skin tone, and pores to appear smaller. Due to its low temperature, this anti-bacterial treatment sanitizes skin and shows an anti-inflammatory response calming inflamed skin. Exfoliation removes sebum, blackheads and follicular dirt and oil to unclog surface skin. Repeated cryogenic therapy treatments help direct cells into a more normal growth pattern. This results in noticeably smoothe

SkinCeuticals’ NEW Advanced Corrective Peel

What makes this peel different from other SkinCeuticals peels?

A: This new SkinCeuticals peel is the deepest and most advanced peel SkinCeuticals has produced to date.  This peel works in the lowest layer of the epidermis, the basal layer, where live tissue and pigment dwell.  It is considered a deep, superficial chemical peel.

Q: What is this peel comprised of?

A: This peel contains 14% salicylic acid, 14% lactic acid, and 10% phenylethyl resorcinol. Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) derived from willow bark and exfoliates, unclogs pores, and regulates oil production.  Lactic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sour milk that exfoliates, hydrates, and has disinfectant properties. Phenylethyl Resorcinol is an antioxidant derived from Scotch pine bark that lightens hyperpigmentation by inhibiting tyrosinase (an enzyme that causes hyperpigmentation). This game-changing combination of ingredients exfoliate and regulate skin discoloration, and have never been used together in a chemical peel until now.

Q: What can I expect during and after this peel?

A: During application, as with most all peels, your skin will feel tingly and spicy.  Your aesthetician will apply 1-3 passes depending on your skin’s reaction to each layer. This is a self-neutralizing peel, so it is very safe and predictable.  Once applied it will continue to work for 4 hours in a controlled, slow release manner.  It is important to not apply anything containing water to the skin for that initial 4 hour period to avoid irritation; this includes liquid makeup.  You will also want to avoid exercise and extreme heat for the first 24 hours to avoid discomfort. Flaking and peeling will begin between 24-36 hours and will last for 3-10 days.  Your post peel skin care protocol is comprised of all gentle products and of course chemical-free sunscreen.  After the peeling process is complete you will notice complexion improvement including smoother texture, suppressed lines, more even skin tone, and a beautiful glow.

Our aestheticians are trained and certified in the NEW SkinCeuticals Advanced Corrective Peel, and will be happy to consult with you and answer any questions you may have about this unique treatment.
